Can I pay for my order with my SNAP EBT benefits?

Yes, we now accept SNAP EBT card payment on heb.com and in the My H‑E‑B app for both curbside and delivery orders.

To use your SNAP EBT benefits, select your SNAP EBT card as your payment method during checkout. You can adjust how much is charged to your SNAP EBT card by tapping the pencil icon next to the payment amount.

A credit card, debit card, or H‑E‑B gift card is only required if your order includes non‑SNAP‑eligible charges, such as curbside, delivery, or personal shopper fees, or if you choose to enable backup substitutions.

If your entire cart is SNAP‑eligible and you disable backup substitutions, you can check out using only your SNAP EBT card. If backup substitutions are enabled, a secondary payment method is required in case a substituted item is not SNAP‑eligible or has a different price.

Starting April 1, 2026, updates to SNAP eligibility rules in Texas will affect which candy and beverage products qualify. To view all SNAP‑eligible items, please visit our SNAP EBT eligible products page or use the filter while searching.

For online orders, your SNAP EBT card can be used to pay for eligible add‑on items and substituted items, even if the price differs from the original item. SNAP EBT cannot be used to pay for curbside, delivery, or personal shopper fees, so a non‑SNAP payment method is required for those charges.
