What are phone verification security codes?
H-E-B uses verification codes sent from (256) 432-7866 to protect your account. These codes ensure only you can access your account in situations like:
- Logging in from a new or unrecognized device.
- Addressing a potential issue with your password.
- Updating your account phone number.
To verify your phone number and secure your account, you’ll receive a text from (256) 432-7866 with a 6-digit code. Enter this code in the boxes on your screen to complete the verification process
To verify your phone number by text on HEB.com:
- Go to “Account”.
- Select “Profile”.
- Under the Personal Information section, click “Edit”.
- Choose “Add Number” or “Verify Number”, depending on the situation.
- Enter the number and click “Send Code”.
- Enter the verification code and select “Verify”.
To verify your phone number by text in the My H-E-B app:
- Go to “Account” from the home screen by selecting the person icon in the top-right corner.
- Select “Profile”.
- Select “Edit” under “Personal Information”.
- If adding a number: select “Add number”. Or if replacing or verifying an existing number: tap the phone number section and select “Verify number”.
- Enter the number you want to verify, tap “Send code”, and enter the received code.
Note: Verification codes expire after 15 minutes. If you don’t receive one, review your number or resend the code. Message and data rates may apply, and the number of messages may vary depending on your account activity.
If you didn't receive your the verification code you requested: Please note that network delays may cause disruptions and text delivery issues. Alternatively, this could be because of incorrect contact info. Please make sure your phone number or email address is correct and verified in your account profile. Another reason could be that the phone number is verified on another account.
If your phone number is already linked to another account, please review the following information:
- For security, a phone number can only be verified on one account. This is to protect your access to digital coupons, one-time passwords, and other account features.
- If your phone number is linked to another H-E-B account:
- An email will be sent to the email associated with that account.
- You’ll need to delete the number from the original account before you can use it on a new one.
- If the phone number is linked to an inactive account or one you’ve lost access to, contact us at (855) 803-0611
- If you believe your phone number has been verified to another account without your permission, call us at (855) 803-0611
Note: Numbers that are unverified can exist on multiple accounts, but only one account can have a verified phone number.
If you receive an invalid verification code error, please review the following information:
- Ensure you’ve typed it correctly, as codes are case-sensitive.
- Request a new code if the previous code has expired (after 15 minutes).
- Use the most recent code sent to you.
- Call (855)803-0611 for help.
To opt out of verification text messages:
- We’ll only send verification text messages from (256) 432-7866 when you request a code on the site or app. No other messages will come from this number.
- If you prefer to verify your account via email, you can request an emailed code as long as you aren’t trying to verify your phone number for the first time.
