Sweet Ancho Chili Candied Bacon

3 Tbsp H-E-B® Select Ingredients - Fish Market™ Spice Blend - Sweet Chile Ancho
2 Tbsp H‑E‑B Brown Sugar
8 slices Kiolbassa Dry Cured Hickory Bacon, or other unflavored, thick-cut bacon

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.

Mix ancho chile seasoning and brown sugar together in a small bowl.

Lay bacon slices in a single layer on prepared pan. Sprinkle generously with seasoning mixture then gently rub it into bacon until almost all the seasoning sticks. Flip bacon and repeat.

Bake for 20 minutes, turn bacon over and bake 5 to 10 more minutes, or until nicely browned but not burned.

Chef's Note: The caramelized sugar on the bacon will be very hot and sticky. Cool slightly before eating. Or bring to room temperature and chop to use in salads.
