3 cup(s) vegetable oil, plus more as needed for frying
1 Tbsp garlic, minced
1 cup(s) white onions, diced
1 jalapeño, seeded and minced small
1/3 cup(s) cilantro, chopped
4 Oz Carne Seca Doña Blanca's Gourmet Dried Beef
1/2 cup(s) lime juice
6 flour or corn tortillas, plus more as needed
1 cup(s) queso fresco, crumbled small

Instructions

Place oil in a heavy bottomed pot and set over medium heat. Heat oil to 350ºF.

In a sauté pan add a tablespoon of oil, then add garlic, onions, jalapeños and cilantro. Cook 4 to 5 minutes. Add beef and lime juice and stir-fry until liquid is evaporated completely. Set aside to cool.

For making flautas, place a spoonful of beef mixture into a tortilla and sprinkle with queso fresco. Roll up and secure with toothpicks. Repeat process with each.

Place flautas in oil and fry in batches being careful not to over crowd pan. Cook until golden brown and crispy. Allow to drain on a paper towel.

Serve with salsa, sour cream or guacamole as desired.
