15 1/4 Oz yellow cake mix
1/3 cup(s) vegetable oil
3 eggs, large
14 Oz whipped fluffy white frosting
3 candy canes, cut off curved ends
3 1/4 Oz green sugar sprinkles
1 cup(s) spice drop candies

Instructions

Heat oven to 350°F.

Prepare cake as directed on package with oil and eggs for a 13 x 9-inch cake, then cool. (Freeze cake 1 hour for easier frosting.)

Starting at center edge of one of the 9 inch sides, make 2 diagonal cuts to lower corners.

To make bottom layer of cake, place 2 small triangles together (with the long, straight sides touching) on a foil-lined rectangular cake platter or tray.

Ice top of bottom cake layer and place remaining triangle cake on top.

Frost top and sides of cake with remaining frosting, then insert 3 candy canes on bottom of tree to make tree trunk.

Cover with sprinkles to form tree branches and arrange spice gumdrops on cake to look like lights and ornaments.
