Spicy Grilled Cinnamon Apple

4 Organic Granny Smith apples, cored and cut into 1/2 inch rounds
1 lime, juiced
1/4 Tsp H-E-B Cayenne Pepper
1/2 Tsp H-E-B Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp ground ginger
1/2 cup(s) Central Market Organics Light Brown Sugar
1/2 H-E-B Creamy Creations Vanilla Ice Cream

Instructions

Combine sliced apples, lime juice, and 2 cups water in a large mixing bowl, soak 5 minutes, then drain on paper towels. (The lime juice will prevent the apples from turning brown).

Heat gas or charcoal grill to 375°F.

Spray a mesh grilling rack with nonstick cooking spray and set on a tray.

Combine cayenne pepper, cinnamon, ginger, and brown sugar in a pie dish.

Press one side of each apple slice into the cinnamon mixture and set on grilling rack. Allow the spice mixture to dissolve into the apple for 2 minutes. Turn apple slices over and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon mixture.

Grill apples uncovered for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are caramelized and begin to sizzle and bubble.

Immediately place 3 hot apple slices in each dessert bowl and top with vanilla ice cream.
