  • Cooking Instructions: Range Top: 1. Bring 2 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan*. 2. Stir in 1 cup of rice, cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until water is absorbed. 3. Fluff lightly with a fork and serve. *Add 1 Tbsp margarine and 1 tsp salt per 1 cup uncooked rice, if desired. Traditional Spanish Rice (Range-Top Recipe) 2 Tbsp vegetable oil 1 ½ cups H-E-B Long Grain Enriched White Rice ½ cup chopped onion 1 small carrot, peeled and diced 1 clove garlic, minced 2 ½ cups chicken broth 1/3 cup picante sauce 1. Heat oil in medium saucepan over low heat. Cook rice, onion, carrot, and garlic until rice is lightly browned, stirring frequently. 2. Stir in broth and picante sauce. Cover and bring to a simmer. 3. Reduce heat to low and simmer until all liquid is absorbed (about 20 minutes).
