Description

Made in Buda, TX. Pequin peppers are very hot, often 15-30 times hotter than jalapeños on the Scoville scale (100,000-140,000 units). Flavor is described as citrusy, smoky and nutty. Known affectionately as 'bird peppers', they come up most anywhere birds have spread the seeds, especially mockingbirds. Popular in salsas, hot sauces, vinegars and oils. Pequins are wild harvested throughout South Texas.
