
Savory Caramelized Onion & Pear Stuffing

Ingredients
- 1 Large yellow onion(s), julienned
- 6 oz H-E-B Select Ingredients Sweet Cream Salted Butter, melted, divided use
- 1 H-E-B Organics Poultry Blend, rough chopped (can be subbed with assorted herbs)
- 5 Fresh garlic clove(s), rough chopped
- 6 Taylor Gold pears, peeled and chopped
- 1.5 oz More Than Gourmet Classic Roasted Chicken Stock
- 12 oz Water
- 16 oz H-E-B Select Ingredients Cornbread Stuffing
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Add in the onion, half a stick of butter (2 oz.) and half of the herbs. Sweat the onions for several minutes, stirring frequently until onions begin to brown, then add in garlic and pears.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and continue to cook for 10 to 15 minutes more, stirring occasionally until both the onions and pears are very well browned and there is no liquid in the pan.
- Turn up heat to medium-high, add in roasted chicken stock, stir to dissolve then add in water. Bring to a rapid simmer and remove from heat.
- Add in the cornbread stuffing and remaining herbs, stir to combine then place in a greased baking dish.
- Melt the remaining stick of butter and drizzle over the top of the stuffing. Cover and bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes, then 10 minutes uncovered. Serve warm.
- Chef's Note: You can substitute 12 oz. of chicken broth for More Than Gourmet Classic Roasted Chicken Stock and water if unavailable.
