Pumpkin Flan

Unsaved Pumpkin Flan

Ingredients

  • 1 cup H-E-B Pure Cane Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 14 oz H-E-B Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 24 oz H-E-B Evaporated Milk
  • 5 H-E-B Large Grade AA Eggs, beaten
  • 15 oz Solid pack pumpkin
  • 2 tsp McCormick Pumpkin Pie Spice

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325°F.
  2. Cook sugar in a small skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until melted and golden in color.
  3. Pour caramelized sugar into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish and tilt dish so that caramelized sugar is evenly spread; set aside. Caramelized sugar will crackle as it cools.
  4. Combine condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, pumpkin, cinnamon and 1/2 cup water in a large bowl: stir well.
  5. Pour custard mixture into caramel-coated baking dish and place inside a larger baking dish. Fill outside baking dish halfway with water.
  6. Bake flan in water bath on center oven rack for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  7. The flan is ready when a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Carefully remove baking dish with flan from baking dish with hot water.
  9. Cool flan for 20 minutes. Serve warm or chilled.
