Ingredients

  • 14 oz canned tomatillos, liquid drained, approximately 4 to 6 tomatillos
  • 1 cup(s) fresh cilantro, approximately 1 small bunch, top leaves and stems only
  • 2 large jalapeños, stems & seeds removed, or leave in for spicier flavor
  • 1/3 cup(s) white onion, diced or chopped
  • 4 each cloves of garlic, lightly crushed
  • 1/4 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1/3 cup(s) roasted salted pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup(s) tahini paste
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp cracked black pepper, Plus more as needed
  • 1/4 cup(s) soy sauce, or as needed to taste

Instructions

  1. In a blender add tomatillos, cilantro, jalapeños, onions, garlic, lime juice, pumpkin seeds, tahini, cumin and cracked pepper.
  2. Blend until smooth and season to taste with salt or soy sauce. Place in a container and refrigerate until ready to use.
