Mushroom-Shallot Gravy

Unsaved Mushroom-Shallot Gravy

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Unsalted butter
  • 4 Medium shallot, finely chopped
  • 8 oz Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Unbleached all purpose flour
  • 4 cups Reduced Sodium Chicken Broth
  • 1 tsp Rubbed sage
  • 1 tsp Thyme

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté shallots and mushrooms until soft; then, add the flour.
  3. Cook 2-4 minutes stirring constantly to avoid burning the flour.
  4. Add the chicken broth and whisk vigorously to avoid lumps.
  5. Add herbs and reduce heat to low.
  6. Whisk and serve immediately.
