
Mi Tienda Tlayuda

Ingredients
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 cups Instant Masa
- 1 3/4 cups Warm Water
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 1/4 tsp Mi Tienda Red Fajita Seasoning
- 1 lb Wagyu Sirloin Butterflied
- 15 oz Refried beans, heated to package instructions
- 10 oz Oaxaca cheese, shredded
- 1 pt Angel Sweet tomatoes, halved
- 8 oz Shredded cabbage
- 1 Large avocado, seeded and diced
- 2 Large limes, quartered
- 1/4 cup Mi Tienda Salsa Taquera Habanero, Other flavors of Salsa Taquera can be used as well
Instructions
- Heat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat. While grill is heating combine salt, masa, and warm water in a large bowl and mix until it forms a ball. It should be moist but not sticky to the touch. Form into 8 equal-size balls by rolling between your hands.
- Using a tortilla press or 2 large books lined with plastic wrap, press masa balls until they are 1/8 inch thick. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 Tbsp of oil.
- Cook each tortilla for 3 minutes per side then set aside and cover with a clean towel. Season sirloin with red fajita seasoning and grill for 5 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
- To assemble brush each tortilla with oil. Spread refried beans on top. Sprinkle with equal amounts of shredded cheese then top with 4 pieces of tomato.
- Carefully set each tlayuda on the grill and cook until cheese is melted and bottoms are slightly charred. Remove to serving plates.
- Top with shredded cabbage, avocado, and a squeeze of lime. Finish with a garnish of habanero salsa if desired. Serve immediately.
