
High Protein Dreamsicle French Toast

Ingredients
Serves 5
- 8 large eggs, 2 whole eggs and 6 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 cup(s) non-fat milk, (or milk of choice)
- 2 oz scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp raw honey
- 1 tbsp fresh orange zest
- 10 each slices of Higher Harvest by H‑E‑B Low Carb Lifestyle Wheat Sliced Bread
Instructions
- In a large bowl whisk eggs and salt together. Add milk, protein powder, cinnamon, vanilla, honey and orange zest. Whisk until well combined.
- Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Working in batches, dip slices of bread in the egg mixture to fully coat and soak bread.
- Spray skillet with spray oil (or use a small amount of oil or butter) and fry each piece of bread on both sides just until gold brown. Keep French bread warm and repeat cooking process with remaining bread. Add more spray oil or butter as needed.
- Chef's note: Serve with additional honey if desired and top with fresh berries.
