  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Fresh ginger root, about a 1/2 inch piece

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a large saucepan and bring to a simmer. Continue to cook 10 minutes, then strain out hibiscus, lemon rind, and ginger. Return liquid to pot and simmer.
  2. Reduce liquid by half. Cool and store covered for up to a week.
