Harissa Honey Garlic Shrimp
40 min prep
10 min cook
Serves 2
Ingredients
Serves 2
- 24 each large shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 3 oz Zwita Harissa paste, any flavor
- 4 each fresh large garlic cloves, minced and pasted
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 2 each limes, juice only
- 3 oz honey
- 1 each pkg large skewers, optional (if using, soak in cold water at least 1 hr)
- 1/2 oz fresh dill, stem removed and chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add shrimp, harissa, pasted garlic, salt, lime juice, and honey. Toss to combine then set aside for 30 minutes to marinate.
- While shrimp marinates, bring grill to medium-to-high heat.
- If grilling shrimp on skewers, place 3 shrimp on each skewer, piercing the tail and head area of each to keep them flat while grilling.
- Grill shrimp for 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until shrimp are firm and no longer translucent.
- Drizzle with additional honey and/or harissa if desired, and garnish with fresh dill.
- Chef's Note - Mint or cilantro can be substituted for fresh dill if desired. This can be baked in the oven or use the broiler, but it's very difficult to sauté because of the honey. If sauté is needed, omit the honey until after cooking and add 1 to 2 ounces at the end.
