Unsaved Fresh Apple Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 medium Cosmic Crisp or Pink Lady Apple, (or other seasonal, firm red apple)
  • 1 medium Granny Smith apple
  • 1 each refrigerated jumbo cinnamon rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil.
  2. Slice red and green apples very thin with a sharp knife or mandoline. Set aside.
  3. Unroll cinnamon rolls from package. Starting at the inside end of the dough, line up apples by alternating colors and overlapping slices.
  4. Coil up cinnamon roll dough and pinch outside end to close. Place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining rolls and apple slices.
  5. Bake 14 to 16 minutes, or until golden brown on top and sides. Remove from oven and lightly drizzle with frosting packet from cinnamon rolls.
