
French Toast Made with Non-dairy Vanilla Yogurt

Ingredients
Serves 6
- 1 cup(s) Dairy Free Vanilla Protein Yogurt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup(s) Dairy Free Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1/2 cup(s) maple syrup, plus more as needed for serving
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp fresh orange zest
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 16 oz bakery French bread, sliced approximately 2 inches thick, plus more as needed
Instructions
- In a blender, combine yogurt, eggs, dairy free whipping cream, maple syrup, vanilla, salt, orange zest, and cinnamon. Blend until smooth and pour custard into a casserole dish.
- Dip a slice of bread in custard until fully soaked. Transfer to a plate. Repeat process with each additional slice, adding soaked bread to the plate. Set aside.
- Place a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Spray pan with non-stick spray and place 2 to 3 slices of bread in the pan. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes per side or until nicely caramelized. Repeat process with remaining slices.
- Garnish with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.
- Chef's Note: Allow each slice of bread to soak for at least 1 to 2 minutes to fully soak.
