Unsaved Dubai-Style Chocolate Crispy Rice Treats

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp Salted butter, softened, divided use
  • 12 oz Marshmallows
  • 6 oz White chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 5 cups Crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup Shredded wheat cereal (unfrosted), crushed with a rolling pin or pan
  • 1 1/2 cups Salted and roasted shelled pistachios, roughly chopped, divided use
  • 8 oz Semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 300ºF. Use 1 tablespoon of butter to grease a 9" x 13" pan and set aside.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, melt remaining butter and allow to bubble up and brown a little. Add marshmallows, salt and white chocolate. Stir until smooth then remove from heat.
  3. Stir in crispy rice cereal, shredded wheat cereal and 1 cup of pistachios. Stir until cereal is completely coated (mixture will be gooey). Press firmly into prepared pan and compress with hands or the back of a spatula.
  4. Sprinkle top of cookies with chocolate chips and bake for about 5 minutes or just until chocolate is soft. Spread out chocolate in an even, thin layer and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of pistachios. Allow chocolate to harden before serving.
