Unsaved Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 3 each Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, and cut in quarters
  • 2 tbsp Hill Country Fare Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup(s) H-E-B Pure Cane Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 4 oz H-E-B Sweet Cream Unsalted Butter, cut into 8 pieces
  • 2 each Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. While oven is preheating, place apples on a small sheet pan lined with a foil boat.
  3. Sprinkle half of cinnamon and sugar over apples then arrange cut butter in random spots near the apples.
  4. Place in oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  5. While apples are cooking, remove puff pastry sheets from freezer and thaw for 20 minutes.
  6. When apples are done, set pan aside for 5 to 7 minutes to allow apples to cool.
  7. Remove thawed puff pastry sheets from the box and flatten out on the counter.
  8. Measure 1/2 inch along edge of pastry sheets and cut strips that look like a belt. Repeat this process for both sheets.
  9. Place 1 piece of apple on each strip and wrap pastry completely around the apple. Transfer to a parchment-lined sheet pan.
  10. Sprinkle remaining sugar and cinnamon over dumplings and bake for 15 minutes or until a light golden brown.
