Bucking the trend toward flabby Merlots, the Ravenswood Vintners Blend adds the structure of French oak to the varietal's opulent fresh plum persona, creating a multidimensional mouthful that doesn't pander to indiscriminating palates. Round and full with a spicy finish enhanced by motes of tobacco, leather, and vanilla, it's delicious upon release (although if you misplaced a few bottles in your cellar, you wouldn't be sorry five years from now). Alc. 13.5% by vol. California.
