  • Easy Cooking Directions: Stovetop: Serving: 1; water: 1 cup; malt-o-meal: 3 tbsp; salt-optional: 1/8 tbsp. Stovetop: Serving: 2; water: 1-2/3; malt-o-meal: 1/3 tbsp; salt-optional: 1/2 tbsp. Microwave: Serving: 1; water: 1 cup; malt--meal: 3 tbsp; salt-optional: 1/8 tsp. Stove Top: Heat water and salt to boiling. Stir in malt-o-meal cereal gradually. Return to boiling while continuing to stir, then reduce heat to maintain a low boil. Cook 212 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly. Serve hot with milk and your choice of toppings. Microwave: Stir all ingredients in a deep microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave 1-2 minutes (because of differences in microwave ovens, cooking times may vary) more until cereal thickens; stir well every 30 seconds. Watch carefully to prevent boiling over. Stir. Let stand until desired consistency. Cooking Tip: For richer flavor, 1/2 the water may be substituted with milk. Warning! Bowl may be hot! Protect hands when removing bowl from the microwave.
