Hill Country Fare Onion Rings

Product Description

Large cuts of flavorful, sweet onions coated with bread crumbs. Ideal as a snack, appetizer served with dipping sauces or served with a juicy steak. Sliced breaded onions. 0 g trans fat per serving.

Preparation Instructions

Keep frozen/do not refreeze. Easy Preparation: Do not thaw before cooking. Pour only the frozen onion rings you need. Close bag carefully and return to freezer. Tips for frying with oil: Always preheat oil uncovered. If oil spatters, cover immediately and reduce heat. Once the spattering stops, remove cover and return to the original cooking temperature. Use caution not to spatter or spill oil onto the hot burner of the range. Always add frozen onion rings to hot oil carefully. Cooking Directions (from a frozen state): Oven Bake: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Arrange frozen onion rings in a single layer on a shallow baking tray. Bake 14 to 16 minutes to desired crispness. For crispier finish, place under oven broiler for 2-3 minutes longer. Serve hot. Pan Fry: Heat 1/2 cup vegetable oil in a large skillet to 350 degrees F (Medium-High setting). Carefully add desired amount of onion rings to the pan to form a single layer (about 2-3 cups). Cook 2 to 2-1/2 minutes or until desired color and crispness are achieved. Drain on paper towels. Season to taste and serve hot. Deep Fry: Preheat cooking oil in deep fryer to 350 degrees F. Deep fryer should be no more than half full of oil. Fill fryer basket no more than half way with frozen onion rings. Use caution lowering basket into hot oil. Fry 2 to 2-1/2 minutes. For best product quality, do not overcook. Drain on paper towels and serve hot. Caution: Ice crystals will cause spattering when added to hot oil. Allow excessive crystals to melt prior to frying. Carefully add frozen onion rings to hot oil. Note: cooking equipment may vary. Adjust cooking time as necessary.
