Take your family back to simpler times with our Hill Country Fare Moist Cake Mixes! This classic and simple butter cake mix is easy to prepare, all you need is water, eggs and oil to create a cake sure to please.

Preparation Instructions

YOU WILL NEED: 1/2 CUP WATER | 3 EGGS | 7 TABLESPOONS SOFT BUTTER 1. Preheat oven to 350'F for metal and glass pans (325'F for dark or coated pans). Allow 7 tablespoons of butter to soften to room temperature (approx. 15 minutes). Grease pans generously and dust with flour; shake out excess. 2. Combine: CAKE MIX, 1/2 cup WATER, 3 EGGS and 7 tablespoons soft butter in large mixing bowl, at low speed until moistened. Beat 4 minutes at medium speed or 450 strokes by hand. Pour batter into pans. 3. Bake at 350'F until done. Add 3-5 minutes to bake time for dark or coated pans. Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Do not test for doneness by touching with finger. Cool cake in pan, on wire rack for 15 minutes. Cool completely before frosting. Two 8" round layers 26-31 minutes Two 9" round layers 22-27 minutes One 13"x9" oblong pan 26-31 minutes One 10" fluted pan 33-36 minutes Approx. 24 cupcakes (fill 1/2 full) 18-21 minutes RECIPE SUGGESTIONS: HONEY BUN CAKE Prep Time: 15 minutes Bake Time: 40 minutes Chill Time: 120 minutes You Will Need: 1 box HILL COUNTRY FARE BUTTER RECIPE CAKE MIX 7 Tablespoon BUTTER, softened 4 EGGS 8 oz SOUR CREAM 1 cup firmly packed BROWN SUGAR 1/3 cup HILL COUNTRY FARE CHOPPED PECANS 2 teaspoon GROUND CINNAMON 1 cup POWDERED SUGAR 1 Tablespoon MILK 1 teaspoon H-E-B VANILLA EXTRACT 1. Preheat oven to 350'F. (325'F for dark or nonstick pan.) 2. Grease and lightly flour 13x9-inch pan, or spray with baking spray with flour. 3. In large bowl, beat cake mix, butter, eggs and sour cream with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 4 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Spread half of the batter in pan. 4. In small bowl, stir together brown sugar, pecans and cinnamon; sprinkle over batter in pan. Carefully spread remaining batter evenly over pecan mixture. 5. Bake 38-420 minutes or until deep golden brown. 6. In another small bowl, stir powdered sugar, milk and vanilla until thin enough to spread. Prick the surface of warm cake several times with fork. Spread powdered sugar mixture over cake. Cool completely, about 2 hours. Store covered.
