Monster Mashers
Monster Mashers
Make your playdough containers monstrously fun by gluing or taping silly monster faces over the label. These make great party favors for little guests.

Supplies:
  • Playdough containers
  • Construction paper
  • Glue sticks or double-sided tape
  • Markers, color pencils or crayons
  • Scissors
  • Ruler

Make it:
  • Measure height of container, not including lid.
  • Cut construction paper to fit size of container.
  • Use different sheets of construction paper to cut out eyes, fangs, horns or other facial features. (You can also color or draw these on too!)
  • Glue or tape your facial features on long piece of construction paper.
  • Wrap long piece of construction paper around container.

Wrap up juice boxes like mummies for silly way to dress up ghoulishly good refreshments.

Supplies:
  • Juice boxes
  • Medical gauze
  • Googly eyes or eyes made with construction paper
  • Glue or tape

Make it:
  • Starting from bottom moving upward, tape gauze and wrap juice box.
  • Stop at the top while making sure to leave enough space for the straw.
  • Add on eyes with glue or tape.

Make these spooky bananas with chocolate chip cookies. They make yummy snacks for picky eaters.

Supplies:
  • Two bunches of bananas
  • Bag of chocolate chips for baking

Make it:
  • Peel bananas and cut in half.
  • Take chocolate chips and press into banana halves to form two eyes and a mouth. (Tip: Freeze chocolate chips so that you can handle them longer without melting)
  • Arrange on a plate and set in fridge. Bring them out when guests arrive to avoid browning. (Tip: You can also lightly brush lemon or lime juice on bananas to prevent browning)

No need to make elaborate cake pops if you're short on time! Simply decorate jumbo marshmallows to make bite-size monster pops.

Supplies:
  • Cake pop sticks
  • Chocolate sprinkles
  • Candy eyes
  • White frosting
  • Food coloring
  • Wax paper

Make it:
  • Layout sheets of wax paper.
  • Use food coloring of your choice to dye frosting.
  • Empty chocolate sprinkles on a plate or in a bowl.
  • Place jumbo marshmallows on cake pop sticks.
  • Dip marshmallows in frosting, then dip in chocolate sprinkles.
  • Add on candy eyes.
  • Transfer to wax paper or stand up in a tall glass to let frosting set.

Make your own decorative skulls (calaveras) for bright and fun Halloween décor. Cut out a few plates before hand and place on a table with markers, glue and glitter for a collaborative kid's activity.

Supplies:
  • Paper plates
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • Glitter (optional)
  • Glue (optional)

Make it:
  • Divide the innermost circle of the paper plate into thirds.
  • On the lower third of the plate, draw semicircles on each end of the plate to make the skull's cheeks.
  • Between cheeks, trace out two lines for the skull's mouth.
  • Cut out skull.
  • Draw two large eyes and an upside down heart for nose.
  • Create your own design with markers, colored pencils, glitter and other crafts.
