Creepy Coin Search
Supplies: non-clear bowls, dish towels, cooked spaghetti, grapes or olives, pre-made gelatin, pennies, stop watch or time keeper, cups, and plenty of napkins
Prep:
-
Fill each bowl with one of the following: cooked spaghetti, grapes or olives, and gelatin. You may need to break up the gelatin mold to give it a gooey texture.
-
Next hide an equal amount of pennies in each bowl.
-
Line up the bowls and place a dishtowel over them to hide the contents inside.
-
Set up a cup next to each bowl.
-
Lower the lights and put on some eerie music.
How to Play:
-
Line up 3 players and tell them to roll up their sleeves.
-
Have each participant pick a bowl to search through.
-
On the count of 3 have each player use their hands to search for as many pennies as they can find in 15 seconds.
-
When time is up, count how many pennies are in each of the players cups.
-
The person with the most pennies wins.
-
Re-set the game as many times as you like.
Candy Corn Guessing Game
Supplies: jar with lid, candy corn, sheet of paper and pen
Prep:
-
Before your party gets started, fill a jar with candy corn. (This can work with any candy, even pumpkin seeds.)
-
Remember to keep count of how many candies it took to fill the jar.
How to Play:
-
As your guests arrive tell them to take a guess at how many candies are piled inside.
-
Write their name on a sheet of paper along with the amount they guessed.
-
Toward the end of the night announce the closest guesser.
-
Their prize can be the jar of candies—or another creepy treat you choose.
Zombie Eyeball Race
Supplies: cups, spoons, creepy eye balls or bouncy balls and masking tape
Prep:
-
Mark off a three-lane course with masking tape.
-
Place a cup at the start and end of each lane.
-
Fill each cup at the end of the lane with three or four eyeballs, depending on the amount of team members you have.
How to Play:
-
Divide teams into groups of three or four. Line them up near the start of each lane. Provide the person at the front of the group with one spoon. They'll share this spoon with each team mate.
-
Each team member must do their best zombie impression as they race toward the cup with the eyeballs.
-
One at a time, transport one eyeball from the full cup to the empty cup using the spoon.
-
If the eyeball falls from the spoon, the team member should start over.
-
The first team to successfully transport all their eyeballs wins.
Best Death Scene
Supplies: open area or room
Try this Halloween tag game indoors or out.
How to Play:
-
Designate two players as being "it" for the game.
-
When they tag other players, they freeze on the spot and do their best dramatic and silly death scene—think Wizard of Oz "I'm melting, I'm melting!"
-
The last two left standing are "it" for the next round.
Place the Nose on the Pumpkin
Supplies: orange and black construction paper, black markers, double-sided tape, small white pieces of paper, bandanna
Prep:
-
Prior to the party, make a large construction-paper pumpkin and tape it on a wall or door.
-
Make sure your pumpkin doesn't have a nose!
-
Using construction paper cut out triangle noses for every player and number them accordingly.
-
Before you play place tape on the back of each nose.
How to Play:
-
When you're ready to play, give one numbered nose to each participant.
-
Next, blindfold each player. For bigger kids, spin them around a few times to make it more challenging.
-
Then let each player attempt to get their paper nose centered on the pumpkin. The one who comes closest wins.
