Ingredients

Recipe makes 6 Servings

2 Tsp kosher salt
1 Tsp chili powder
1 Tsp garlic, minced
1 Tsp fresh cracked black peppercorns
1 Tbsp brown sugar
6 t-bone steaks, cut 1 inch thick

Instructions

Combine brown sugar, chili powder, black pepper, garlic and salt in small bowl.

Sprinkle rub evenly over both sides of steak, pressing rub gently into meat.

Cover steak with plastic wrap; allow it to sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before grilling.

Meanwhile, heat charcoal for 30 minutes until covered with a light layer of gray ash or heat gas grill on high for 10 minutes with lid closed.

Grill steak over medium heat (375°F grill surface temperature) for 4-7 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 140°F for medium rare or 150°F for medium doneness.

Let steak sit for 2 minutes, then serve.
