Ingredients

Recipe makes 8 Servings

2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 large white onion, diced
4 cloves of garlic, minced
4 individual sprigs of fresh thyme, whole sprigs used then removed before serving
3 Lb brisket point, diced into approximately 1/2 inch cubes
1 cup(s) dry red wine, plus some for the cook as needed
1 jar of Four J Charred Tomato & Basil Sauce

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Meanwhile, set any oven safe large Dutch oven over medium heat on stovetop.

Add olive oil, onions, garlic and thyme. Allow to cook 4 to 6 minutes until just translucent and starting to color. Add chopped brisket and stir fry an additional 10 to 12 minutes or until brisket has some color. Add a liberal pinch of salt and pepper.

Add red wine and charred tomato basil sauce, bring to a simmer then place the lid on and transfer to oven.

Cook 3 to 5 hours or until meat is tender. Serve sauce over your favorite pasta. Garnish with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired. Season to taste as needed.

Chef's Note: This recipe is great served with Bucatini style pasta.
