Lentil Burgers

Recipe makes 4 Servings

1 cup(s) cooked brown lentils
2 cup(s) water
1/2 Lb extra lean ground beef
6 Oz mushrooms
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup(s) parsley minced
1 egg, beaten
1 Tsp Worcestershire sauce
4 H-E-B Deli Thins
4 leaf lettuce
4 slices of tomato
4 2% sliced cheddar cheese

Cook lentils according to package directions. Drain and place in bowl of a food processor or blender. Pulse for 20 or 30 seconds to coarsely chop lentils.
Add in mushrooms, garlic, parsley and pulse until mixture is coarse but not a paste.
Combine lentil mushroom mixture with egg, Worcestershire, and ground beef. Mix well to incorporate.
Form into 4 to 5 equal patties. Place on a plate and refrigerate while oven is preheating to 400°F.
Place patties on a foil lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes on one side, then flip and bake for an additional 10 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 155°F.
Build burgers and serve with sweet potato fries.
Note: patties can be made ahead of time and frozen individually.
