Recipe makes 48 Servings

1 cup(s) water, boiling
1 cup(s) Hill Country Fare Vegetable Shortening
1 cup(s) H-E-B Pure Cane Sugar
1 1/2 Tsp H-E-B Iodized Salt
2 red star active dry yeast
2 H-E-B Large Grade A Eggs
6 cup(s) H-E-B Baker's Scoop All Purpose Flour, unsifted

Add to List


Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir until shortening is melted.
Sprinkle yeast into lukewarm water, stir until dissolved, stir in eggs.
Add flour to shortening mixture then add egg and yeast mixture and blend well.
Cover and place in refrigerator for a minimum of four hours and up to overnight.
Oil muffin pans.
Roll out dough on floured surface.
Make desired shape of rolls, cloverleaf, split-top, etc.
Place in prepared pan and let rise in warm place for 2 1/2-4 hours until about doubled.
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Bake 9-11 minutes.
