Recipe makes 4 Servings

1 cup(s) water
1/2 Tsp cinnamon
2 whole cloves
2 star anise pods, (optional)
4 Oz piloncillo (brown cane sugar), about half the cone
1/2 cup(s) corn flour
13 1/2 Oz coconut milk
2 cup(s) half and half cream
2 Abuelita Mexican Hot Chocolate Tablets

Place water, cinnamon, cloves and star anise pods in water. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat.
Scrape or grate piloncillo into water to dissolve. Whisk in corn flour, coconut milk and half and half. Continue whisking until smooth and heated through.
Add chocolate tablets to gently simmering mixture and whisk as they dissolve. Serve hot.
Chef's Note: This recipe is incredibly rich – almost like a cross between hot chocolate and dessert. To lighten it up, milk may be substituted for half and half.
