1 Tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 Tsp cayenne pepper, or as needed for spice
1 1/2 Tsp black pepper
1 Tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup(s) muscovado sugar
1 Lb H-E-B Chop House Bacon

Instructions

Preheat oven to 225°F.

In a small bowl, mix together red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic powder and muscovado sugar.

Place a fitted wire rack onto a sheet pan and lay slices of bacon out on rack. Sprinkle spice mixture evenly over bacon generously.

Bake bacon for 50 minutes then turn oven up to 325F and cook for 10 minutes more or until bacon is cripsy.

Remove from oven and allow to cool for at least 20 minutes; this will allow sugar to set.

Chef's Note: A great use for this bacon is to break it up and use it on a classic iceberg wedge salad for extra kick.
