The Paleo diet is a high protein diet based on the types of foods presumed to have been eaten by early humans. It focuses primarily on meat, fish, vegetables and fruit, and excludes processed food, dairy and grains. The diet favors natural, grass-fed red meat, wild-caught fish and shellfish, and monounsaturated fats from nuts, avocados, olive oil and coconuts.
