I've dreamed of creating a yellow cake mix that has nothing artificial. Bake it as is slathered in chocolate buttercream frosting, or use in your favorite Cake Mix Doctor recipe. Nothing artificial. No artificial colors or flavors, preservatives, emulsifiers, or trans fats. Nothing fake in this cake! This is as close to a from-scratch cake as it gets - and a whole lot easier! Made in the USA.

Preparation Instructions

You Will Need: 1 box Old-Fashioned Yellow Mix, 1 cup milk, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, 3 large eggs.1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two, 9-inch cake pans. 2. Place the cake mix, milk ,oil and eggs in a large bowl. With an electric mixer, beat on low 30 seconds, scrape down the bowl, then beat on medium 1 to 3 minutes, until the batter is smooth and thickened. 3. Divide the batter between the pans, and place the pans in the oven. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until the cake springs back when lightly pressed in the center. 4. Let the layers cool 10 minutes in the pans. Run a knife around the edges, and invert the layers onto racks to cool right-side up. Cool completely before frosting. For a 13- by 9-inch pan: Bake 30-35 minutes. For 24 cupcakes: Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Yellow Butter Cake: For a yellow butter cake, substitute 12 tablespoons soft, unsalted butter for the oil, and warm the milk. Beat on medium-high speed until smooth, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
