Our brewers have free rein to experiment, and one of their favorite places to do so is in the barrel room of our Boston Brewery. It is in this special room where centuries of brewing tradition meet craft brewing ingenuity. We have long used traditional barrel aging to soften flavors in beer while imparting a sweet, toasty note. Until now, these beers have only been enjoyed by a few lucky brewery visitors. Many Americans are not accustomed to handling their beer with great ceremony, but when it comes to this beer, it's important. We recommend pouring the beer gently into a traditional beer glass. Take care not to unsettle the fine layer of yeast that rests at the bottom of the bottle from the bottle-conditioning, a process which creates an extra smooth and balanced flavor in the beer.
