Cooking directions on the stove: 1. Bring 2 cups water to a boil in a 3-quart heavy saucepan. Stir in 1 cup of rice. 2. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until all the water is absorbed. Fluff lightly with fork and serve. Cooking directions in the microwave: 1. In a 2-quart microwave-safe dish combine 2 cups of water and 1 cup of rice*. 2. Cover. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. 3. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 15 minutes or until all the water is absorbed. 4. Fluff lightly with fork and serve. *Add 1 tbsp. tub margarine and 1 tsp. salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired. For drier rice use 1 3/4 cups water. For moister rice, use 2 1/4 cups water.
