To soften the treats, we recommend soaking them in hot water for 5 minutes. This is a great option for older dogs and also makes it easier to break the treats into small pieces for training. Once treats are softened, they should be consumed immediately. Daily Maximum Number of Piece(s) Based on your Dogs Weight: Small dogs (5-10), 1 treat; small-medium dogs (11-25), 2 treats; medium dogs (26-50), 3 treats; large dogs (over 50), 4 treats. Senior dogs have different feeding needs based on weight and age. Ask your veterinarian what's best for your dog. Make sure your dog gets plenty of fresh water daily. In addition to a nutritionally balanced diet, daily exercise is important too.
