In our vegan Mushroom & Cabbage pierogi, we use real sauerkraut - no vinegar. The natural fermentation of the sauerkraut gives our pierogi a smooth balance of sweet and sour. Preparation Instructions

Keep frozen. Two Cooking Methods: Boil: Do not defrost. Place 5-6 frozen pierogi in 7 cups of salty boiling water. Stir gently so pierogi do not stick to bottom. Do not cover with lid. Simmer on low for 8-10 minutes or until desired softness. Stir occasionally. Remove pierogi with slotted spoon and place on plate with olive oil or melted butter. You can refrigerate and fry them the next day for great left-overs! Top with sour cream. Steam Fry: For a crispy pierogi, place frozen pierogi in a medium-hot non-stick pan with oil. Fry and flip frequently on each side until golden brown. Add enough water to cover 1/4 of pierogi. Cover and steam for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired softness. Add water if pan becomes dry. Remove from pan and top with sauteed onions. Dip in sour cream, or favorite topping.
