Product Description

Dietary supplement. With guaifenesin & 5 mg folic acid. 30 servings. The world's finest supplements. While everyone needs adequate nutrition, women seeking to become pregnant may have special needs. Olympian Lab's Aspiring Mother Vitamin provides nutritional support for a woman wishing to experience the miracle of motherhood. Olympian Labs promotes healthy mothers and children in a new, powerful, and easy to take way. First, unlike other vitamins, Aspiring Mother contains guaifenesin which been used for many years by women who seeking an easier time becoming pregnant. Guaifenesin helps to make the cervical mucus more liquid and flow easier. Thick cervical mucus can retard the passage of sperm and lower the odds of pregnancy. Since it is impossible to predict when a woman will become pregnant, Aspiring Mother has been synergistically balanced for early childhood development. Vitamin D3 supports fetal growth and bone calcification while vitamin C is needed for healthy cell development. A powerful blend of B vitamins supports production of energy and the development of the nervous system. Lutein, a precursor to vitamin A, helps with neural development and healthy eyes. Together these essential nutrients combine to meet or exceed a woman's daily nutritional needs. A major worry for women wishing to become pregnant is neural tube defects (NTDs). These defects of the spinal column cause such conditions as spinal bifida which can lead to paralysis of the legs. Research suggests that the chances of neural tube defects are best reduced by high doses of folic acid. The dosages in Aspiring Mother are significantly higher than those found in most prenatal vitamins. In one clinical study performed in London it was shown that while the recommended level of folic acid fortification in the US would produce a 20% reduction in NTDs, maximum protection was achieved at 5 mg of folic acid (Department of Environmental and Preventative Medicine, Wolfson Institute of Preventative Medicine, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Charterhouse Square, London, UK (Prof. N J Wald, Prof M R Law, Prof J K Morris): Department of Cardiology, St. Mary's Hospital, Milton Rd, Portsmouth, UK (D S Wald). As published in The Lancet, Vol. 358 December 15, 2001. Page 2069.) At 5 mg of folic acid, incidence of NTDs was reduced by 85%. Olympian Labs believes that it is vitally important for a woman to receive the best protection possible for her child against neural tube defects so we have chosen to go with the 5 mg dose. Olympian Labs has not chosen to include calcium in Aspiring Mother because of concerns many women have with constipation. Taking calcium with iron can cause this uncomfortable problem. Instead calcium is available through several Olympian Labs calcium formulations. Olympian Labs is proud to help mothers achieve optimal levels of nutritional support. We believe that Aspiring Mother provides the highest level of protection from neural tube defects while supporting a woman's attempts to become pregnant. Olympian Labs pledges to bring forward only the highest quality products to support a healthier life. (Prescription for Nutritional Healing, Third Edition. Phyllis A. Balch, CNC.
