Description
Our cider making method dates back 2,000 years, and it still produces the best quality juice. We continue our old fashioned methods in the manufacture of our many other products as well. Our butters and preserves are made using the “open kettle” method. It takes a little longer, but we’re sure you’ll agree — it’s well worth it!
Our apples come from commercial growers, mostly just north of us, along the Missouri River from about St. Joseph to Waverly. We do, however, still run an authentic, old fashioned Apple Cider Mill in a renovated old barn in Louisburg, Kansas. The Hammermill Apple Press is the heart of our operation. Ours was built in Cos Cob, Connecticut in the early 1900’s. Great tasting, fresh, wholesome cider is the result.
