Preparation Instructions

Prep: 5 minutes. Total: 8 hours 25 minutes. Makes: 7 servings (Recipe yields 7 servings when prepared as directed). What You Need: 1 boneless beef chuck roast (2-1/2 lb); 7 sandwich buns. What's Included: Brown Sugar & Cider Vinegar Simmer Sauce; Sweet Hickory BBQ Finishing Sauce. Step 1: Add meat to slow cooker. Top with simmer sauce; cover. Cook on low 8 to 10 hours (or on high 6 to 8 hours) (minimum internal temperature for roast 145 degrees F). Step 2: 30 minutes before serving: Transfer meat to cutting board. Let stand 10 minutes to cool slightly and seal in the juices. Pull meat into shreds with 2 forks. Step 3: Remove liquid with ladle from slow cooker; set aside. Step 4: Return meat to slow cooker; stir in finishing sauce. If desired, add some of the reserved liquid to desired consistency. Increase heat to high; cook, covered, 15 minutes. Serve in buns. Tip: Top with your favorite coleslaw. Refrigerate unused portion. Shake well.
