Preparation Instructions

This box contains two bags: cake mix plus glaze mix. You'll need the contents of this box, plus: For the Cake: 1 teaspoon salt, 10 tablespoons softened butter, 4 large eggs, 1 cup milk. For the Glaze: 3 tablespoons hot water. 1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 10 to 12 cup bundt-style or tube pan. 2. To Make the Cake: Beat butter with salt and half the cake mix till no chunks of butter remain. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until well combined. Then beat till the batter is fluffy, stopping once to scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl. Add the milk 1/3 cup at a time alternately with the remaining cake mix, beating until blended. 3. To Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the pan, shaking the pan gently to level the batter. Bake the cake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes. 4. To Finish the Cake: Stir the glaze mix and hot water together till the sugar dissolves, heat briefly if the sugar doesn't dissolve completely. Turn the cake out onto a serving plate while it's still warm, and brush slowly with the glaze, allowing it time to sink in. Yield: one cake.
