Recipe for basic potatoes. 1 serving = 1/2 cup. Microwaving is not recommended for amounts over 6 servings. Because of differences in microwave ovens, cooking times may vary. For 2 servings use 2/3 cup water, 2 tbsp. milk, 1 tbsp margarine or butter, 1/4 tsp salt, 2/3 cup Potato Bits, 1 to 2 minutes microwave time. For 4 servings use 1-1/3 cup water, 1/3 cup milk, 2 tbsp. margarine or butter, 1/2 tsp salt, 1-1/3 cups Potato Bits, 2 to 3 minutes microwave time. For 6 servings use 2-2/3 cups water, 2/3 cup milk, 1/4 cup margarine or butter, 1 tsp salt, 2-2/3 cups Potato Bits, 4 to 5 minutes microwave time. About 17 servings use 6-1/2 cups water, 1-1/4 cups milk, 1/2 cup margarine or butter, 2 tsp salt, entire box of Potato Bits, microwave time not recommended. Stove-Top Prep: 1. Heat water, milk, margarine and salt to boiling in saucepan. 2. Remove from heat. Stir in Potato Bits mashed potatoes just until moistened. Let stand about 30 seconds or until liquid is absorbed; whip with fork.
