Feeding Guidelines: 4 lbs weight of cat: feed 1/3-1/2 cup daily to maintain weight, feed 1/3 cup daily to lose weight; 8 lbs weight of cat: feed 2/3 to 1 cup daily to maintain weight, feed 2/3 cup daily to lose weight; 12 lbs weight: feed 1 to 1-1/3 cups daily to maintain weight, feed 1 cup daily to lose weight; 16 lbs weight of cat: feed 1-1/3 to 1-3/4 cups daily to maintain weight, feed 1-1/4 cups daily to lose weight; 22 lbs weight of cat: feed 1-3/4 to 2-1/2 cups daily to maintain weight; feed 1-2/3 cups daily to lose weight. These guideline amounts are a starting point and your cat may need more food depending upon age, activity and temperament. In order to reach optimal body condition, you may need to adjust food intake. This represents the total recommended volume of food per day. You should divide the total recommended feeding amount by the number of times you feed your cat per day to get the actual portion size per feeding.
