Guenoc was born in 1888 out of a vision to craft the finest wines in America in a place that was largely undiscovered, yet rich with an incredible landscape called the Guenoc Valley. Guenoc wines are inspired by this sense of place and guided by our independent spirit. With each vintage,e we endeavor to create premium crafted wines of pure varietal character, made our way in the far reaches of the west. Guenoc wines come from a blend of estate vineyards and premier growing sites in California. Soils range from rocky volcanic highlands to mountain valleys lined with gravelly riverbeds. The combination of these unique sites allows us to produce wines that exemplify the diversity found in these distinct regions.Distinctly California, our wines highlight the fruit from our favorite vineyards in the Golden State. This Merlot has notes of raspberry, cherry and dried herbs with lingering dark chocolate on the finish. It’s the perfect excuse for sausage and pepper pasta, or thick cut steak
