Description
Cacao is a fruit that grows on the Theobroma cacao tree, which is native to tropical regions in Central and South America. Oblong-shaped much like a football, it has two edible parts: the seeds and the fruit or flesh that surrounds the seeds. Crack open the tough outer shell to get to the seeds that can be brewed like coffee beans. You can also ferment, grind into a paste and then sweeten the seeds to make chocolate.

Ingredients
Cacao Bean.- To open a cacao fruit, carefully slice it lengthways on a chopping board. If you want the seeds to remain intact, don't cut the fruit all the way through. Scoop out the beans and pulp with your hands or a spoon.
