Flahavans Irish Steel Cut Oatmeal

Product Description

Grown, milled and produced in Ireland. Since 1785. Imported. What makes Flahavan's oatmeal taste so good? The answer is simple - tradition. At the Flahavan family mill in Co. Waterford, we have over 200 years expertise in milling oats. Our oats are grown and harvested locally and produced in small batches to capture the rich, delicious flavor that is our original Irish oatmeal. What's the difference? Our taste is the difference. Our whole grain oats are grown locally by Irish farmers. At harvest time each year, we take in our new season's oats at the mill, drying and storing them with special care for the year ahead. Our unique way of milling is what gives our oats their full rich texture, sealing in the natural aroma and giving our oatmeal its distinctive creamy taste. This is why we're Ireland's favorite oatmeal. Make breakfast naturally healthy and special! When we eat well, we feel good - it's as simple as that. Oats are full of natural goodness. Oats are naturally low in saturated fat and are a good source of fiber. 3 grams of soluble fiber from oatmeal daily in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease. Flahavan's Irish Steel Cut Oatmeal contains 1 gram of soluble fiber per serving. Produced and packaged in a nut free mill. Enjoy the taste of Ireland's favorite oatmeal. Produced and packed in Ireland.

Preparation Instructions

Stove: Makes 4 servings of perfect Flahavan's Oatmeal. Stir 1 cup of Flahavan's Steel Cut Oatmeal into 3-3/4 cups of cold water or milk. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cooking time may vary depending on the texture required. Cooking time will be reduced to around 20 minutes if the oatmeal is soaked overnight. Overnight Method: Stir 1 cup of Flahavan's Steel Cut Oatmeal into 3-3/4 cups of cold water or milk. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 2 minutes. Cover and when cool, place overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, bring the oatmeal to the boil and simmer for 10-12 minutes stirring frequently. Serving Suggestions: Why not try your Flahavan's Steel Cut Oatmeal with some honey, cream, yoghurt, creme fraiche, maple syrup, demerara brown sugar or chopped fruit (such as apple, strawberry or banana). Storage: We recommend that you store your Flahavan's in a cool dry place.
