Preparation Instructions

You Will Need: For Cake - 2/3 cup Water; 4 Large Eggs; For Milk Syrup - 3-1/2 cups Milk. Cooking Instructions: 1. Prep - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F for metal or glass pan, 325 degrees F for dark or coated pans. Grease sides and bottom of pan with shortening. Flour lightly. 2. Mix - Blend dry cake mix, water and eggs in large bowl at low speed until moistened (about 30 seconds). Beat at medium speed for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Pour into cake pan and bake immediately. 3. Bake - One 8-inch (35-38 min.); One 9-inch (29-32 min.); 8 x 8-inch (29-32 min.). Add 3-5 minutes to bake time for dark or coated pan. Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Carefully run spatula around edge of pan to loosen. Invert cake into heat-resistant serving platter with rim. Poke holes in cake with the end of a wooden spoon, 1/2-inch apart. 4. Blend - Blend contents from small packet and milk in small bowl with wire whisk until completely dissolved and well blended. 5. Pour - Pour milk syrup over top of cake slowly. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Frost before serving. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Promptly refrigerate unused baked cake. High Altitude (Over 3500 Feet): Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Stir 3 tablespoons flour into mix. Mix as directed above except using 1/2 cup water and 4 eggs. Bake one 8-inch layer (39-41 min); One 9-inch layer (32-35 min); 8x8-inch (32-35 min).
