We searched far and wide for the best Bordeaux varietals in California that could deliver the quality of Aviary at an accessible price. The result is Birds of Prey, a reference to our hunting expedition across the state and the protectors of the vineyards that we continued to see over these vineyard sources. This beautiful wine captures the big, bold flavors of California while preserving Aviary's elegant style. Flavors of red berries, melon, chocolate, and toasted cedar make this a crowd pleaser for any red wine drinker.
Aviary’s inaugural release was a red blend from the 2010 vintage, where we utilized a diverse spectrum of fruit from throughout Napa Valley. The idea of so many different grapes coming together to make one beautiful blend was the inspiration for the Aviary name. Our focus on creating an enjoyable, smooth drinking wine has remained our signature style.
Appellation: Lodi County, California; Sonoma County, California
ABV: 14.5%
Varietals: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Zinfandel, 18% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc
Aging: 12 months in French & American oak
