Cooking Your H-E-B HomeStyle Seasoned Fresh Turkey
Bring out the delicious, aromatic flavors of your 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. 2. Adjust the oven rack beforehand so the turkey and roasting pan will fit in the oven. 3. Line the turkey roasting pan with a large sheet of heavy-duty foil, large enough to wrap over the turkey. 4. Remove all packaging material from the turkey. Unfasten legs from leg clamp (do not remove the plastic leg clamp; it is oven-safe) and drain excess seasoning liquid from neck and body cavities. 5. If you're going to stuff turkey, do so now using our safe stuffing instructions. Or you can choose to roast it unstuffed (which is the best way to avoid food safety concerns). Lay the neck-skin flap back and secure with a metal or wood skewer to hold the dressing in. Then, tuck the wing tips back under the turkey. Stuff the cavity, if desired. Then fasten legs back into the leg clamp. 6. Place turkey, breast side up, in a prepared foil-lined roasting pan. Brush or spray skin lightly with oil or melted butter. Loosely close foil over turkey, allowing a space over the breast. Place turkey in oven. 7. Check the turkey frequently for doneness since oven temperatures and sizes vary greatly. After 2 1/2 to 3 hours of roasting, fold back foil to allow turkey to turn gold brown. Approximate Oven-Roasting Times for H-E-B HomeStyle Seasoned Fresh Young Turkey are as follows:
